Client testimonials can be extremely powerful. Social Media and online directory sites such as Google+ (Places) and Hotfrog make it really easy to share positive sentiment and referrals. Here are a few points from

  1. Make it simple for customers to give you a review – Send an email out to your customers a few days after the sale is completed, providing them links to your social profiles and asking them to rate and/or comment on your business, or specific product or service.
  2. Encourage or incentivise people to give a review – Client reviews are extremely valuable to your business and you have to appreciate how valuable people’s time is when giving them. Be sure to thank and/or reward everyone who writes a review, some businesses offer gift cards or free services as a little something to say “Thank You”.
  3. Make client reviews part of your sales process – Test the value of testimonials in your sales process and if valuable to your business, integrate them into both the pre and post sales process.
